Restore Push Notifications after an Unplanned Disruption

To restore Push Notification services on your device after an unplanned service disruption, you need to relaunch the Insteon app on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or sign out and back into the Insteon app on Android and Windows Phone. Android users will also need to clear the Insteon app cache from the Android Application Manager.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

 

Android

Step 1

From the Insteon app, tap Settings and then Edit Settings.

 

Step 2

Tap Logout.

 

Step 3

Navigate to Settings.

Tap Application Manager.

Step 5

Scroll through your Apps until you find Insteon.

Step 6

Tap Clear Cache.

Relaunch the Insteon app, sign in and test that Push Notifications work as expected. If not, see this article for additional troubleshooting steps.


 

iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Step 1

Double tap the Home button and swipe up to quit the Insteon app.

Step 2

Tap Insteon to relaunch the Insteon app.

Step 3

You should be automatically signed into the Insteon app. Test that Push notifications work as expected. If not, see this article for additional troubleshooting steps.

Windows Phone

Step 1

Swipe through the carousel until you reach settings then tap Sign Out.

Confirm that you wish to sign out.

Sign back into the Insteon app.
