Serial Modem Interface (PLM) essential for professional installations

As a professional installer of Insteon smart home automation, the Serial Modem Interface (PLM), is essential to my installations in which I use control systems from Universal-Devices for the more sophisticated Insteon systems I install for customers. I have used these Insteon PLMs for many years and found them to be extremely reliable, so much so that I can install them and never worry about them. In twenty years and many hundreds of installations I have only had to replace one of these. That is a great track record!

Got me working again

My PLM died so I ordered a replacement from Insteon.
The product works great and got all of my home automation working again.
This is the second time I have had to replace the PLM in 5 years but the room it is in is about 84 degrees so that may be why.

First time PLM replacement

It’s been well over 10-years since we first installed the Insteon PLM for our ISY994i.

A few blackouts in a row (we’re on an island) seemed to indicate that our PLM was nearing end-of-life (needed to restore the PLM each time)

And so we replaced it .. ISY with the PLM is working great now through any sort of power outage 🌴
