Mando a distancia

Scenarios

See some of the ways you can use the Micro Open/Close Module
Turn a basic garage door motor into a smart one

Interface with your opener motors' contact closure inputs* and add control from a keypad button anywhere in the house. Add a wired sensor to the I/O module and get status displayed as well. Check out our pre-built kit.

*Must be analog inputs. Will not work with digital input/outputs.

Build your own electric door lock

The built-in relay can be wired to control electric door strikes or deadbolts that run off up to 5A @ 30 Volts (AC or DC). Control can be done via Insteon Keypad button or even your mobile phone via Insteon Hub.

Automatically shutoff water to the house in the event of a leak

Install an electric water valve on your incoming water main and then wire it to the relay output on the I/O Module. Add Insteon water leak sensors throughout the house and have them trigger the I/O Module when water is present.

Essential info

Integrate alarm sensors, electric door strikes, and contact closures as part of your Insteon home automation network.

Remote Control
Monitor and control pool valves, electric door strikes, garage doors and more using your Insteon network.

4 Output Relay Modes
Control and integrate many different types of devices to control Insteon lights and appliances using standard sensors.

Control many Insteon devices throughout the house with one dry-contact sensor input. Plus, use the built-in single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, connect any low voltage powered device for continuous or momentary operation.

I/O Module's Flexibility
I/O Module's flexible output relay can control many different types of low voltage devices, from pool valves to electric door strikes to garage doors due to its different relay modes. When controlling devices like pool valves, you will want the ability to leave it on for an extended period of time, giving it plenty of time to fill the pool. As it approaches the desired water level, then you can remotely turn it off. For devices like electric door strikes, set I/O Module's output relay to momentary, allowing you open the front gate using a Mini Remote*, Keypad button or any other Insteon controller.

A third version of I/O Module's momentary mode allows you to remotely press your garage door button with an Insteon On command, but only if your garage is currently closed. This allows you to open your garage with On command and close it with an Off command. Because I/O Module uses a garage door sensor to know whether the door is open or closed, it only controls the garage when it needs to.

Need some wire with your purchase? We have a 20 Foot 2 Conductor, 22-Gauge/AWG Interconnect Wire.

*I/O Module communicates via power line only so if you intend to control it by a Mini Remote (which is RF only), you'll need at least one dual-band Insteon device such as a plug-in module or wall switch to bridge the gap.

Not reliable.

Brand new I/O module out of the box… defective. Took me 2 was to get a working one. Next time I buy it on the WEB for $20. I hope Insteon QC improves, I like the products design.

I/O Module - Low Voltage Controler

It works great, BUT it took me about two weeks to get it to work with the patients of your tech support Steve Lee. It turns out that the device will not work with the Insteon "Director" application no matter what Steve and I try to do. I finally installed "Homeboy" on my phone, and it works with the "Homeboy" application. The only problem I have is the "Homeboy" application is not as user friendly as the "Director" so I am jumping back and forth using the "Homeboy" to operate my garage door and "Director" for all the rest of my devices. I would like a resolution to this problem, but I am doing ok. Steve was very patient and helpful. I would like to use more of your products, but I am in the middle of major renovation and no time for upgrades at this time.

Love it!

It allows to do so much stuff!
I have one to operate the garage door and get status of the door, another one for sprinkler in the yard, one for an electric water valve.

Waste Of money

Site indicated it was a low voltage controller but it appears not capable of controlling f low voltage fireplace control

Product works perfectly, but has limited lifespan

I have purchased these three times. The only reason I bought the second and third is because they eventually fail to function. With that said, the product works perfectly to activate my remote vacuum cleaner outlet.
