Insteon Launches support for Tesla Automobiles with EVEConnect

Insteon’s Millions of Installed Smart Home Devices now connect seamlessly with Tesla Drivers

Irvine, Calif. – Jan. 23, 2018 – Insteon®, a leading developer of IoT technology for the home, today announced that its line of ultra-reliable smart home devices are now compatible with the EVEConnect solution for Tesla. It’s now possible to turn on your lights and turn up the heat with a touch of a screen or an automation you’ve set up for your drive home.

“Insteon’s inherent interoperability with systems and devices makes it easy to extend one’s home IoT devices to the automobile,” said Rob Lilleness, CEO of Insteon. “Our latest integration with EVEConnect solution for Tesla provides our customers with even more options of controlling their lights and other smart devices. And Tesla is just the beginning.”

Insteon is the world’s most reliable IoT technology for lighting and electrical control. Insteon achieves this reliability via its patented dual-mesh network, which communicates simultaneously via wireless radio waves and the home's existing wiring. Insteon integrates with hundreds of products and systems in the home, including HVAC units, locks, timers, lighting, cameras, music, humidity and leak sensing, garage doors and more.

“Our partnership with Insteon, who has been in the smart home business since the beginning, is very exciting,” explains Warren Butland, co-founder of EVE. “Our customers will now never have to deal with access downtime. Wherever they are, they can be reassured that their home is as they meant to leave it, even when they’re on the road.”
