SMART.™ Introduces New Insteon®

October 12, 2010

IRVINE, Calif. - SmartLabs, Inc. has launched a new line of home control products under the brand name SMART. The products, which were introduced at the 2010 CEDIA Expo in Atlanta, GA, will be available to dealers and installers in November, and will feature SmartLabs' award-winning Insteon technology.

"We're extremely excited to be offering a line of products available exclusively to dealers and installers," commented Steve Lee, Business Development Manager for SMART. "The line was really well received at CEDIA, so I expect our product offering and distribution network to expand rapidly." Lee added, "We have a full schedule of product trainings taking place across the country, and hope those trainings bring our first wave of dealers and installers."

The initial launch features 13 home control products to control and automate lighting, appliances and temperature. All of the SMART products are compatible with other Insteon products including Smarthome's retail Insteon line of products, ISY and other Insteon-compatible products. The line is also compatible with popular front-end systems like Crestron, AMX and ELK systems, which allows installers maximum flexibility when presenting solutions to homeowners.

Smarthome™ Introduces New SwitchLinc™ Insteon® Dual-Band Remote Control Dimmer

August 13, 2010

IRVINE, Calif. - Smarthome announces the release of the new SwitchLinc Insteon Dual-Band Remote Control Dimmer. The new product is a full-featured dimmer than can be remotely controlled by powerline and radio frequency (RF) Insteon controllers and also doubles as an Access Point, relaying RF and powerline signals to other Insteon-compatible devices.

Similar to the best selling SwitchLinc Dimmer, the newest member of the SwitchLinc family has the ability to communicate using both the home's existing electrical wiring and radio frequency (RF). The dual-band technology not only increases the reliability of the dimmer, but for the user's entire Insteon network.

"The new SwitchLinc Dual-Band Dimmer continues our focus to be the best and most reliable home automation network on the market," commented Laurie Maroni, Vice President of Marketing at Smarthome. "We've made a commitment to our customers to provide them with the best automation and lighting controls on the market, and in this case we've taken our best-selling dimmer and made it even better."

The device offers the ability to set the speed at which the light fades On and Off, preset on-level for always remembering the user's favorite brightness level, and the ability to be remotely controlled from a handheld remote, wall keypad, computer or mobile phone.

The SwitchLinc Insteon Dual-Band Remote Dimmer, which passed stringent certification and beta tests, is currently available for pre-order, starting at $59.99 at Smarthome.com, and is expected to begin shipping in October.
