i3 Paddle Launch, Director App Updates, and Migration Services

Mar 14, 2023

Hi everyone,

Wow. It’s March already? Time really is flying by this year, but I am so energized about the progress we’re making with getting the company further along on so many fronts. There’s a lot covered in this letter so I’ll try to keep things brief.

On our recent ‘Lunch with Insteon’ webinar, we announced the Insteon i3 Paddle (PS01). What I personally like about this product is that you can configure it to be an on/off switch or a dimmer right in the Director app which is great for when you’re not sure if a light fixture is dimmable or not.

Speaking of i3, the demand for all of the new i3 products has been incredible. We expect to have all three products back in stock by early next week. Be sure to click the notify-me button on the product page so you’ll know as soon as they’re back in stock.

On the Director mobile app front, we now support the Range Extender (2992-222) within the app. And in late March/early April, look for support coming for I/O Module (aka IOLinc /2450) and Mini Remote (1-Scene / 2342-242, 4-Scene / 2342-232, 8-Scene 2342-222). If you would like to see our plans for future device support, click here.

I am happy to announce that we also are now able to migrate data from a Hub 1 to a Hub 2. Of course, if you have devices on your Hub 1 that are not supported in the Hub 2 (i.e., X10 devices), you will not be able to control them via the Hub 2. Also, please note that the Director app does not (and will not) support Insteon cameras, X10-based devices, and Sonos speakers.

In the webinar, I also mentioned our Bright Ideas initiative. We hear so many great stories of how this community uses Insteon technology so we wanted to encourage you to share yours. Just post some photos or a video of your setup on X, Facebook, or Instagram, tag us with @insteon and use the hashtag #brightideas. We will be re-posting some of the more clever and interesting ones on our official accounts.

Thanks and have a great week!
