Imagine four recessed lights in your family room: one person wants to watch a movie, while another wants to read. With this kit, you can keep one light on for reading while dimming or turning off the others for a perfect theater-like ambiance - all from a single keypad.

Normally, to control each light or group of lights from the wall, you’d need to run additional wiring from every fixture back to the switch—a messy, time-consuming job that usually means cutting into drywall.
With the Insteon Recessed Lighting Kit, there’s no need for that. Instead, you simply install a Micro Dimmer Module right at each light fixture in the ceiling. These tiny modules fit easily above the light and connect to the existing power wiring.
Once the Micro Modules are installed, you install the Keypad on the wall where your standard light switch was located. Then, using Insteon’s simple linking process, you wirelessly connect each Micro Module to one or more buttons on the Keypad.
Now, your wall keypad can control all four lights together - or individually - without ever running new wires between the switch and the fixtures. You get smooth dimming, flexible control, and a clean installation that looks like it was wired that way from the start.
Bonus - Micro Dimmer Modules can also be installed behind antique, toggle or decorative wall switches to add remote control without sacrificing your old switch's design.
