You can reset Insteon devices and restore them to factory default settings. The procedure to reset an Insteon device varies by device type. Factory resetting an Insteon device will erase all customized settings including:
Customized On Level for dimmable devices
Customized Ramp Rate for dimmable devices
Controller links to other Insteon devices
Responder links to other Insteon devices
Custom device behavior including blink on traffic, beep on button press, status LED brightness
If reset instructions for your device are not found in this list, consult your product's Owner's Manual.
Insteon Hub
Follow the steps in this article to perform a factory reset on your Insteon Hub. Doing so will erase the following information from your Insteon Hub:
Links to Insteon devices in your home
Links to configured scenes
Configured schedules
If you intend to remove Insteon Hub from your home, you should first delete all scenes and devices using the Insteon App prior to performing a factory reset. If you don't first delete the linked Insteon devices, your remaining Insteon devices will continue to look for your missing Insteon Hub and degrade your home's Insteon performance.
After you have deleted all scenes and devices, delete your Insteon account using the Insteon app.
Factory Reset Insteon Hub 2 (2014)
Disconnect Insteon Hub from power
Press and hold the set button while reconnecting power. Insteon Hub will emit a long beep.
When the long beep ends, release the set button. Insteon Hub will double-beep and after 30 seconds, Insteon Hub will beep again.
Power cycle Insteon Hub by disconnecting and then reconnecting it to power.
Factory Reset Insteon Hub 1 (2012)
Disconnect Insteon Hub from Power
Press and hold the set button while reconnecting power. Insteon Hub will emit a long beep and it's status LED will turn red.
When the long beep ends, release the set button. Insteon Hub will double-beep and its status LED will turn blue.
Plug-in Devices
Unplug your device from the power outlet
Press and hold the set button while reconnecting to power
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops. If your device does not beep, hold the set button for ten seconds.
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your device has been reset.
Wall Switches & Keypads
Disconnect your Wall Switch or Keypad from power by pulling the set button out
Press and hold the set button
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops If your device does not beep, hold the set button for ten seconds
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Wall Switch or Keypad has been reset
Wall Outlets
Resetting an Insteon Wall Outlet requires an assistant.
Have your assistant turn off the circuit breaker that supplies power to your Wall Outlet
With the power off, press and hold the set button and have your assistant turn on the circuit breaker
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops.
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Wall Outlet has been reset
Wired Thermostats
Press and hold the Set button until it beeps
Press and hold the Set button again until it beeps
Double-tap Set button
Press and hold Set button again for about 10 seconds
Insteon Thermostat will emit a long beep and its display will blink all segments.
When blinking/buzzing stops, release Set button and wait 10 seconds.
Insteon Thermostat will perform a series of self tests, then return to normal operation
Wireless Thermostats
Open the Wireless Thermostat enclosure and remove one of the two AA batteries
Press and hold the set button while reinserting the removed AA battery
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Wireless Thermostat has been reset
Mini Remotes
Turn off Mini Remote by sliding the power switch to the right
Press and hold the set button while sliding the power switch to the left
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Mini Remote has been reset

Sensors
Remove the sensor's cover and remove or disconnect the battery
Press and hold the set button while reinserting or reconnecting the battery
Continue holding the set button for 10 seconds
Release the set button
Ceiling Fan Controller
Factory resetting Ceiling Fan Controller requires physical access to the device which means partial disassembly of your ceiling fan.
Press and hold the light set button until the status LED blinks green
Press and hold the light set button again until the status LED blinks red
Quickly double-tap the light set button and then press and hold the light set button
Continue holding the light set button until the beep stops
Release the light set button
Micro Modules
Press and hold the set button until Micro Module beeps and the status LED blinks green
Press and hold the set button again until Micro Module beeps and the status LED blinks red
Press and hold the set button a third time until Micro Module beeps and the status LED blinks green
Tap the set button three times; the status LED will double-blink green
Press and hold the set button
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Micro Module has been reset
Ballast Dimmer
Resetting an Ballast Dimmer requires an assistant.
Have your assistant turn off the circuit breaker that supplies power to your Ballast Dimmer
With the power off, press and hold the set button and have your assistant turn on the circuit breaker
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops.
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your Ballast Dimmer has been reset
DIN Rail Modules
Press and hold the set button until the DIN Rail module beeps and the status LED blinks green
Press and hold the set button again until the DIN Rail module beeps and the status LED blinks red
Press and hold the set button a third time until the DIN Rail module beeps and the status LED blinks green
Tap the set button three times; the status LED will double-blink green
Press and hold the set button
Continue holding the set button until the beep stops
Release the set button. You should hear two beeps confirming that your the DIN Rail module has been reset
